« Formación para el Trabajo »: hospitality industry career training program for socially vulnerable young people
FEDES (Fundación Educativa de Desarrollo Económico y Social) is a Chilean NGO founded in 2000 with the aim of providing training and employment support for socially vulnerable people.
Under Formación para el Trabajo (training for work), a national program initiated by the Chilean government, the NGO opened a job training center intended to help secure the reinsertion of socially vulnerable people in sectors requiring manpower. Among the courses on offer, together with the Accor teams in Chile, the NGO has set up training in hospitality-catering activities for 100 disadvantaged people every year.
The Accor Foundation* has helped outfit the center’s kitchen, making it possible to provide hands-on catering training.
* In 2013, the Accor Foundation became Solidarity Accor.
Be involved in this project gives me the satisfaction to have contributed to the local communities development.
